Americares Responds to the Gaza Humanitarian Crisis

Since Israel was violently attacked on Oct. 7, 2023, the ongoing hostilities have escalated and the situation has grown dire.

The health care system in Gaza has collapsed, an estimated 1.9 million people are now displaced and the blockade that’s prevented food and lifesaving medicine from entering Gaza since March 2025 is leading to malnutrition and a health crisis.

The needs are overwhelming and we urgently need your support to continue to provide lifesaving aid to those impacted by this crisis.

Since the conflict began in October 2023, Americares has:

• Sustained mobile medical clinics that are operating inside Gaza, bringing urgent care to families in camps and shelters.
• Delivered over 35 tons of essential medicines and supplies, fulfilling more than 350,000 prescriptions.
• Prepositioned 4 tons of additional aid—including prenatal vitamins and cancer medications—ready for delivery as soon as the blockade is lifted.
• Provided $775,000 in emergency funding, ensuring vital health services continue amidst unimaginable conditions.
• Supported mental health programs reaching over 16,000 children and adults traumatized by the violence.

In Israel, Americares worked with multiple organizations after the Oct. 7, 2023, attack to meet physical and mental health needs including supporting a mental health hotline, distribution of household supplies and baby care items, and child friendly spaces for populations displaced within Israel due to the hostilities.
