2024 Japan Earthquake

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck western Japan on Jan. 1, 2024. The quake caused devastation in the Noto Peninsula, damaging more than 43,000 homes, sparking fires and triggering tsunami alerts.
More than 230 people were killed and thousands were displaced.

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy has a Global Recovery Fund that provides donors with an efficient, flexible solution to support recovery efforts for people affected by disasters like this one.
