WCK's Response to Flash Flooding in Nepal (Aug. 2026)

来自 WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN INCORPORATED

World Central Kitchen’s restaurant partners are serving meals in Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts–downstream from the country’s border with China–where flash flooding has left more than a hundred people dead and hundreds more missing.

Experts believe an ice-rock avalanche from a glacier blocked the Lhende Khola River, a tributary of the Bhotekoshi, then released a sudden surge downstream — washing away villages and destroying infrastructure. This is the second time the river has flooded in fourteen months.

WCK Relief Team members are on the ground to support the work of our partners already serving meals. This is a quickly evolving situation.

WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need.

By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

With over 600 million meals served globally, WCK continues to bring relief, one plate at a time. Your donation today fuels this mission—helping us reach more people, faster, when they need it most.
