Americares Responding: Earthquake in Afghanistan

A deadly 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck on August 31 – at least 1,400 people were killed, 3,500 injured and thousands of houses have collapsed. The earthquake struck a remote and mountainous area of Afghanistan and has dealt a massive blow to families that were already struggling to cope with a lack of basic necessities, including access to health services.
