Celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by supporting Doctors Without Borders
โดย Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)This March 8th and throughout the month of March, join us to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by giving to Doctors Without Borders. Supporting women and girls is at the root of our mission and it helps drive the strategies behind our projects.
One of our key focus areas is maternal health. Many women across the world give birth without medical assistance, massively increasing the risk of complications or death. Our maternal health programs focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality through pregnancy and prenatal consultations, emergency obstetric care, postnatal follow-up, and access to family planning services and safe abortion care.
We also provide care for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. Sexual violence can occur anywhere but is often more prevalent in unstable situations, such as during conflicts and mass population displacements. The harms are often compounded by a dire lack of health care services for victims and social stigma that can prevent survivors from seeking care. Since victims of sexual violence need rapid access to emergency health services, we strive to make comprehensive health care available for survivors—whether they are women, children, or men—in all our projects.
Doctors Without Borders remains committed to providing lifesaving care for all our patients in over 75 countries around the world. Doctors Without Borders takes no government funding and relies on unrestricted funds from private donors like you. This means that when an emergency strikes, we don't have to write grants or face red tape and restrictions before we respond—we can act fast and start saving lives immediately.
