WCK's Response to Storm Leonardo in Spain (Feb. 2026)
efter WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN INCORPORATEDWorld Central Kitchen is on the ground in southern Spain, serving meals in communities impacted by Storm Leonardo. A Red Weather Alert has been issued as the system brings extreme weather to inland areas of Cádiz and Málaga provinces, forcing thousands of families to evacuate.
The storm is bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and flooding, with the greatest impacts expected overnight and into the early morning hours. Our Spain team mobilized a food truck to the region ahead of the storm and is now serving sandwiches to displaced families and first responders. We are working closely with local partners to reach anyone in need as conditions continue to evolve. This remains a quickly evolving situation.
WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need.
By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.
With over 600 million meals served globally, WCK continues to bring relief, one plate at a time. Your donation today fuels this mission—helping us reach more people, faster, when they need it most.
