Americares Supporting Health and Recovery After the Hawaii Floods
op AMERICARES FOUNDATION INCAmericares is supporting communities in Hawaii as they begin the difficult process of recovery following catastrophic flooding.
In recent days, historic rainfall and severe flooding have inundated neighborhoods across Oahu and parts of Maui, forcing thousands of people to evacuate, damaging homes and infrastructure, and disrupting access to essential health services. As families cope with displacement, unsafe water, and the loss of basic necessities, local health providers are working under immense strain.
Americares is actively responding by mobilizing emergency resources and working with trusted local partners to address urgent health needs. We stand ready to support immediate response efforts, and a shipment of hygiene kits and medical supplies is already moving forward to help support communities affected by displacement and homelessness.
As floodwaters recede, health needs will persist, including access to basic hygiene, medicines, and ongoing support for community health services. Americares will continue to assess needs alongside local partners and stand ready to provide additional assistance as conditions evolve.
Donate today and make a big impact for communities in Hawaii and across the U.S. -- every $10 donated can provide $200 in aid.
Americares brings deep experience to this response, with a long track record of supporting communities affected by floods across the U.S. and globally. We also have recent experience responding in Hawaii, to the devastating Maui wildfires in 2023, which informs how we are partnering locally and moving quickly to support recovery now.
Your gift to Americares U.S. Disaster Relief Fund will help ensure Americares has the resources required to respond effectively and quickly to natural disasters and extreme weather events with medicines, medical supplies and other humanitarian aid for people in crisis and continue to help survivors rebuild their lives.
