Haiti continues to experience a dire and complex humanitarian crisis. Gang Violence has also displaced between 150,000 - 200,000 people, leading to increased threat of transmitting preventable diseases. Additionally, gang blockades have led to shortages of gasoline and diesel, severely disrupting the economy and supply chain, preventing basic goods, including clean water, from reaching Haitian citizens. The United Nations says Haiti is witnessing catastrophic hunger, with more than 4 million Haitians facing acute food insecurity.
Airlink is working to reduce duplication among UN agencies and NGOs, ensuring that only necessary supplies are transported by organizations that can successfully navigate the Haitian customs clearance process. We are working with our NGO partners to deliver Water, sanitation and hygiene supplies (WASH); medical imaging equipment; medical supplies and family emergency kits and more.
