WCK's Response to North Carolina Wildfires (Mar. 2025)
작성자 WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN INCORPORATEDMultiple blazes are raging in North Carolina, leaving in their wake a path of destruction. Fueled by strong winds and low humidity, the fires have consumed over 12,000 acres and are proving difficult to contain for first responders. WCK has been in the region for six months since Hurricane Helene, supporting local residents with warm meals, fresh water, and other vital supplies. Following the recent outbreaks of the fires, WCK’s Relief Team is providing support to the hardest-hit communities in and around Haywood County while monitoring the impact of the wildfires in neighboring Buncombe, Polk, and Jackson counties. With a strong, active network of chefs and restaurant partners in the area, WCK is poised to pivot as necessary in order to best meet the needs of families most affected by the fires. Some communities in western North Carolina are beginning the road to recovery for a second time in just a matter of months, and WCK is committed to continue providing support the best way we know how—with warm, comforting meals.
WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
