Powerful quakes have devastated communities in Venezuela, causing widespread destruction and leaving families trapped, injured, and displaced.
Thousands of people are feared dead or injured after buildings collapsed in densely populated areas, including the capital city of Caracas. Roads, health facilities, and critical infrastructure have been severely damaged, making it harder for families to access the help and services they need. This disaster comes at a time when nearly 8 million Venezuelans already required humanitarian assistance before the earthquake struck.
Since 2018, CARE and our local women-led partners have worked alongside communities across Venezuela. We have the local knowledge, trusted relationships, and tested capacity to deliver urgent assistance where it is needed most.
Now, we are ready to activate surge funding and respond with immediate support, including:
- Supporting search and rescue efforts
- Expanding access to emergency medical care
- Providing access to temporary shelter and essential supplies
- Helping to restore critical services for affected communities
Women and girls often face the greatest risks during emergencies. Together with our partners, CARE is providing safe access to reproductive health care, menstrual supplies, and protection services.
When disasters strike, every second counts. Families in Venezuela need help now. Your support today can help deliver lifesaving assistance to those most at risk.
