Ebola Outbreak Crisis | Children's Emergency Fund
di SAVE THE CHILDREN FEDERATION INCChildren and families in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda are facing a rapidly spreading Ebola outbreak in conflict‑affected areas with overwhelmed health systems.
Since early May, there have been at least 500 suspected cases and 130 deaths, according to the World Health Organization.
Save the Children is already responding in DRC and Uganda by:
- Launching a three‑month response in DRC to curb transmission, protect families and health workers and share vital information with communities
- Supporting healthcare workers with protective equipment, disinfectant supplies and infection‑prevention information
- Protecting children through school hygiene measures, teacher trainings and child‑friendly health messaging
Our teams have been in DRC for decades and have successfully responded to Ebola before. We responded to the last major outbreak, where we trained more than 1,200 health workers and almost 1,000 community leaders, reaching more than 1 million people with information through our community campaigns.
Please consider supporting our Children’s Emergency Fund to help protect kids when crises like this strike.
