CORE Hurricane Ida Response

by CORE COMMUNITY ORGANIZED RELIEF EFFORT

On August 29th, 2021, Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 storm, striking Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and other parts of Louisiana.

Powerful winds have cut power to over 1 million people and flooded low-lying areas in New Orleans and across Louisiana. Striking on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Ida has tested and triggered both the memories of Katrina, while proving to be one of the strongest storms to ever hit the state in over 150 years.

CORE is responding by working with communities and partners to provide an equity-based response that meets immediate shelter and health needs.

Time is of the essence and your support will send lifesaving aid and supplies to the communities where they are needed the most.
